Editorial & Fact-Checking Policy

This page describes how information on Solar & EV Planner is sourced, checked, dated and corrected. It applies to every location page, hub page and article on the site.

Sourcing

• Incentive schemes are described from the material published by the body that administers them — for example the tax authority, the energy regulator, the national development bank or the grid operator. We name that body on the page.
• Electricity rates come from our regional dataset and are shown on each page in local currency per kWh, so you can compare them against your own bill.
• Calculations run in your browser from inputs you can see and change. There is no hidden server-side model.

What we will not publish

We do not publish a number we cannot stand behind. In practice that means three standing rules:

• No unverifiable amounts. Where a scheme’s rate or cap changes annually and we cannot confirm the current value, we describe the mechanism and name the administering body instead of printing a figure.
• No borrowed jurisdictions. A scheme that exists in one country is never shown on another country’s pages. Each country’s page lists only the schemes that actually operate there.
• No invented local programmes. Where support is national or regional rather than city-specific, the page says so directly rather than implying a local scheme.

Estimates are labelled as estimates

Payback periods, savings and system costs are modelled outputs, not quotes. Every page states the assumptions behind its figures — the electricity rate used, the reference consumption, the system size. Change the inputs and the outputs change. See our disclaimer for the limits of what these figures can tell you.

Dating and review

Pages carry the year they apply to. Incentive schemes are reviewed when the administering body announces a change, and the underlying regional dataset is reviewed on an ongoing basis. A page that has not been reviewed recently still shows the rate it used, so you can judge for yourself whether it is current.

Corrections

If you find an error — a scheme that has closed, a rate that is out of date, a calculation that does not hold — tell us through the contact page and include the page URL. We correct confirmed errors at the source rather than adding a note, so the fix propagates to every page that uses the same data.

Independence

Solar & EV Planner does not sell installations and does not accept payment to feature, rank or omit a scheme, product or installer. The site is funded by advertising, which is served separately from editorial content and has no input into it. See about this site.
